A Finished Game, Built by Your Child
Every child finishes with a working game they designed and coded, plus a chess game written down in notation which they replay for you, move by move. You see the work, not a promise.
Longer Focus on Hard Problems
A good chess puzzle takes ten minutes. A bug in a game takes longer. Children practise staying with a problem instead of guessing, and testing their guess before they move on.
Maths Ideas They Use, Not Memorise
Games run on coordinates, sequences and conditions. Children use them to make a character move and keep score. We don't teach the school syllabus, and we won't promise better marks.
The Habit of Reviewing a Loss
After each tournament game in the group, we replay it and find the move where it turned. Children learn to look at their own mistakes calmly. Wondering if chess raises grades? Read what the research says.
Screens Used for Building
In a study of 563 Nairobi children aged 9 to 11, 74% passed two hours of recreational screen time on weekend days. We don't ask your child to give up the screen. In class, they build on it. Watching vs building.
Confidence From Finishing Something
A child who finishes a working game has proof they built something on their own. Chess adds practice at losing in front of others and coming back to play again next week.

Is Your Child Writing Programs Yet?
The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development approved a coding curriculum for primary and secondary schools, and UNESCO named Kenya the first African country to make coding a school subject. Approval on paper and coding lessons in your child's classroom are two separate things.
